A Santa Maria woman is being honored in the Rose Parade next week after she donated one of her kidneys to a stranger earlier this year.
Because of the donation, Cedars-Sinai Hospital chose Terie Cota to walk alongside the 2014 "Donate Life" float.
Terie gave the kidney in honor of her brother-in-law, who died before she was able to donate her organ to him.
On top of walking in the parade, Terie got to meet the man she gave her kidney to, Michael "Mick" Kronman, of Santa Barbara, Friday.
You can see Terie walk in the Rose Parade on New Year's Day.
