A local teen takes her tasty treats to a popular national television show.
16-year-old Blake Colvin was a guest on the Nate Berkus Show Tuesday. Colvin, who is from Santa Ynez, was invited on the show to talk about her Cupcakes for Cancer business.
Colvin has raised more than $65,000 since she launched Cupcakes for Cancer three years ago.
Before beating Nate Berkus in a cupcake frosting contest, she told him why she started making her now-famous treats.
"I was seven years old and I was misdiagnosed with cancer and I still had to go through three years of chemo therapy though, and by 8th grade I was completely healed and that's when I came up with the idea," Colvin said.
