The Los Padres League baseball title will come down to Friday's regular season finale when Santa Ynez hosts Templeton. The Eagles and Pirates are both 9-2 in LPAL action.
Tyler Ornelas threw a complete game with ten strikeouts as Lompoc defeated Templeton 6-3 on Tuesday. Jordan Pickles reached base safely four times and scored three runs. Chris Taitague and Justin Guzman each collected two hits and an RBI for the Braves, who improved to 7-4 in league and 11-13 overall.
Eagles pitcher Andy Garretson allowed just one earned run over four innings of work but took the loss. Spencer Howard, Clay Villars and Michael Frigon each had RBI hits for Templeton. The Eagles fell to 16-4 overall and 9-2 in league.
Santa Ynez blanked Templeton 1-0 earlier this season.
Santa Ynez last won the title in 2009. The Eagles shared the crown with Lompoc last season.
