Santa Maria native Kristina Santiago scores her first Big West Conference player of the week award of the season and third of her career.
The Cal Poly junior made a career high 12 field goals and posted the third-highest field goal percentage of her career (.800) in the Lady Mustangs' 73-52 win over San Francisco.
Santiago led all scorers in the game with 25 points as well as a team-high eight rebounds. She helped Cal Poly to its first win at San Francisco since Dec. 15, 1981 and second all-time.
Santiago's 12 field goals were the most in a single game by a Mustang in more than two seasons. Her 25 points led all players and the eight rebounds tallied were a team best.
The win improved Cal Poly to 4-3 this season and was the first of four-straight road games for the Lady Mustangs.
The Righetti High graduate leads all Big West players with 19.1 points per game.
Cal Poly returns to action Wednesday at Eastern Washington.
