The Lompoc Fire Department is helping the community prepare for the unexpected.
The fire department is teaming up with Home Depot to host a community disaster preparedness event on Saturday highlighting many programs including "Ready, Set, Go!"
"Ready, Set, Go!" is part of a county-wide program to teach homeowners how to protect their family and home in case of a wildfire.
Saturday's event will feature interactive displays by many organizations, including the American Red Cross, PG&E, the Fire Safe Council, The Lompoc Fire Foundation, and the United States Forest Service.
It's happening in the Lompoc Home Depot parking lot from 11 a.m. to 4 p.m.
