It is the 35th anniversary of San Luis Obispo's Saturday morning farmers' market, and it has been an especially good summer for the weekly event.
Sales on Aug. 31 alone were the highest in the market's history, and managers say the number of shoppers over the three-week anniversary celebration increased dramatically.
The market takes place every Saturday from 8 a.m. to 10:45 a.m. at the Cost Plus World Market and Embassy Suites parking lot.
The Saturday morning market was one of the first five farmers' markets in the state of California.
