Congratulations to Savannah Hoagland. She was crowned tonight as the 2012-2013 Miss California Mid-State Fair.
Savannah is 20 years old. She will be attending CalPoly in the fall. She ran on a platform titled, "Promoting Agricultural Education." She'll be giving tours of the livestock barns, teaching the public about local farmers.
Six local girls competed for the competition. Megan Rodrigues won first runner-up. Alex Lambirth is second runner-up.
The girls will participate in opening events at the fair and judge a few eating competitions.
To win the title, each girl competed in categories including health and fitness, talent, evening dress, speech and a final question about their platform for community outreach.
The winners will be attending each day of the fair.
