Marijuana trafficking operation shut down in Goleta

Santa Barbara County Sheriff's Narcotics Detectives break up what they're calling a marijuana trafficking operation in Goleta.

Detectives were first alerted to the illegal activity after 45-year-old Kenneth Koster, of Goleta, was arrested in Oklahoma. At the time of his arrest, he was found with more than 33 pounds of processed marijuana. Investigators think Koster was headed to Florida.

Narcotics detectives then searched Koster's home and business. They also contacted three additional suspects: Susan Koster, Amanda Hilton, and George Foxx, at their homes. During those searches, investigators found more than 130 active marijuana plants in an indoor marijuana garden on El Camino Ratel. Additional items used for marijuana sales were also found. The total value of the marijuana and plants seized during the investigation is estimated at $490,000.

Kenneth Koster was booked into jail in Oklahoma for marijuana trafficking violations there. He will also face charges in Santa Barbara County.

The sheriff's department has sent charges to the District Attorney's office for Susan Koster and Amanda Hilton.

George Foxx was booked into Santa Barbara County Jail for three outstanding arrest warrants.
