SBPD creates Major Investigation Team

The Santa Barbara Police Department has a new group to help with the investigation of major incidents within the city.
It's called the Major Investigation Team.
The department says officers on the team have specialized training in various types of crime scene investigations.
They'll also be looking into the city's 23 cold case homicides.
All of the officers on the team have other duties in addition to their assignments on the Major Investigation Team.
