Two Santa Barbara men who were arrested in connection with a sexual battery incident November 20 have been linked to additional crimes.
The Santa Barbara Police Department says Edgar Jesus Rojas, 18, and Jose Angel Moran, 19, were in possession of stolen items when they were arrested for the sexual battery incident. Police say they had mail and costume jewelry that had been taken from an unlocked car that was parked in the 1100 block of Indio Muerto Street on November 20. Police say they had two cell phones, a flashlight, and papers that were taken during an armed robbery that also took place November 20. During the armed robbery, police say Rojas and Moran identified themselves as gang members and robbed a 27-year-old Santa Barbara man on the 200 block of South Voluntario Street.
Rojas and Moran have been booked in the Santa Barbara County Jail. They're being held on $2,500 bail for petty theft and possession of stolen property, as well as $90,000 bail for robbery and participation in a criminal street gang.
