The California Highway Patrol says drivers heading southbound on Highway 101 near Tassajara Creek Rd. can expect delays of about an hour and a half while they continue to clean up the area in which a Big Rig caught fire and leaked fuel early Monday morning.

Two southbound lanes of Hwy 101 are closed at Tassajara Creek Rd. right now. The CHP reports that traffic is backed up to Atascadero. Officers recommend travelers use the alternate route to get southbound, by taking Hwy 41 to Morro Bay, and then take Hwy 1 into San Luis Obispo. Crews hope to have the highway completely reopened by about noon. Heavy traffic is reported on this alternate route as well.
