Scholarships available for AHC law enforcement students

Students and graduates of Allan Hancock Community College who want to pursue a career in law enforcement can get money to help pay for school.

Applications are being accepted for the Edwin O'Neill Law Enforcement Scholarship.

There are two $10,000 scholarships available this year. The deadline to submit a completed application is March 21.

The following is criteria to apply:

  • Either be a current Allan Hancock College student planning to petition for graduation in spring 2014, or a graduate of Allan Hancock College with an A.S. or A.A. degree
  • Either be applying and accepted to a four-year college for fall 2014, or be currently enrolled in a bachelor degree program in law enforcement
  • Be preparing for a career in one of the investigative branches of law enforcement working for county, state or federal government

Earlier this month, the AHC Police Academy moved into its new state-of-the-art home in Lompoc.
