School taking precautions after van follows kids

Harloe Elementary School in Arroyo Grande is on alert after two fifth graders reported a white van following them on their way to school Friday.

It happened near the intersection of Cerro Vista Crile and Alpine Street. The driver is described as a white man in his mid-thirties to early forties with a small goatee. At the time, he was wearing a blue baseball cap and a green shirt.

Police have notified the Lucia Mar Unified School District and private schools in the area.
