A sculpture that was featured at the 1904 World Fair in St. Louis is here on the Central Coast. The Wrestling Bacchantes sculpture group is back at the Sunken Gardens in Atascadero. The sculpture was featured there before, but it was vandalized and damaged by sunlight. The city paid to restore it, and on Sunday, it was officially unveiled. "It's made of carrara marble, which is the marble incidentally that Michelangelo favored and used in many of his sculptures, including the David, but it is vulnerable to environmental pollution," said Constance Faber, one of the people in charge of restoring the statue. If you want to check the sculpture out, head to the Sunken Gardens. It is on El Camino Real.
