A german Shepard is recovering Sunday night after falling from a cliff, thanks to Santa Barbara County Search and Rescue crews.

Val, an 80-pound German Shepard mix, was playing below Tangerine Falls near Montecito Saturday when she slipped on wet sandstone and fell about 20 feet.

She could not walk so Val's owners called 911.

Crews worked into the night to secure Val to a stretcher and lower her down the trail.

Her owners then drove her to an animal emergency clinic.
