Season of Hope teaching kids true meaning of holidays

People of all ages are getting into the holiday spirit by donating to the Season of Hope, the Central Coast's largest-ever food and toy drive.

Maria Lisa Parkman's daughter, Alicia, is pictured donating toys at a Goleta fire station. Parkman says it was a great way to teach Alicia the true meaning of the holiday season and to be thankful for what she has.

The Seaon of Hope runs through December 14. To take part, bring non-perishable food or a new, unwrapped toy to any local fire station, Coastal Communities Physician Network (CCPN) office, Heritage Oaks Bank, or to the KSBY studios in either San Luis Obispo or Santa Maria. Local food banks and toy agencies will work to make sure the donations stay local to help Central Coast families.

Tonight on KSBY News at 5 and 6, Jeanette Trompeter will be live from the CCPN office of Dr. Brian Patterson, Dr. James Tedford and Dr. Michael McNerney located at 7700 Morro Road in Atascadero. Drop by, say hello, and make a donation to the Season of Hope.
