The San Luis Obispo County Sheriff's Department captured a wanted fugitive in the California Valley Monday afternoon, stemming from a kidnap and assault investigation.

Daniel Andrew Zeller is accused of kidnapping and repeatedly assaulting a man in the California Valley over a period of several days. Detectives already arrested Phillip Clyde Williams last week in connection with the crime.

The assault and kidnapping were reported to deputies on November 11. Deputies were called to a home in the California Valley after the victim escaped and found help. He was treated for injuries at a local hospital, but has since been released.

Zeller was captured Monday with help from the California Highway Patrol.
