CAL FIRE, in cooperation with local landowners, is conducting a prescribed burn on Saturday.

The 920-acre burn is located one mile south of Lopez Lake near Phoenix Canyon.

Fire officials say the burn will help reduce brush and other wildland fuels in an area prone to wildfires.

They say people in the Five Cities area may see smoke to the east from about 8:00 a.m. to 6:00 p.m.

Topics: prescribed burn, smoke, fire, Five Cities, Lopez Lake, San Luis Obispo, CAL FIRE, brush fire
