Seniors lead the way for Cal Poly football

SAN LUIS OBISPO, Calif. - With 16 returning starters, the Cal Poly football team took to the Cal Poly Sports Complex on Friday to practice with the incoming 25 new freshman players.

"I remember when I was a freshman and everyone showed me love." Mustang running back Kristaan Ivory said. "I want to let them know we move a lot faster and a lot harder."

The Mustangs lost 30 letterman, including 23 seniors off last year's roster, and will look to fill 10 starting positions.

"It goes by super fast," safety Dave Douglas said. "I feel like yesterday I was a freshman"

Fall Camp ends August 22 and the Mustangs will take two days off before beginning preparations for the New Mexico State game on August 25.

The home opener will be a non-conference game against Portland State on Saturday, September 20th.
