A San Luis Obispo County judge postponed sentencing Tuesday for the man accused of shooting and killing a boy in Oceano and agreed to consider a request for a new trial.

Back in December, a jury found Armando Yepez guilty of shooting and killing Gabriel Salgado, 17, in 2011.

He was arrested for the crime during a traffic stop in Nipomo last May.

Yepez is expected back in court in April.
