San Luis Obispo County Sheriff's Deputies arrested a registered sex offender for the second time in one week Wednesday evening. The most recent arrest came just hours after authorities posted fliers in Templeton, warning people about him.
Fifty-year-old Billy Gene Mannon was arrested at his home in Templeton yesterday after a mother of two girls reported two incidents that allegedly involved Mannon. The Sheriff's Department says the girls reported that Mannon stared at them and may have followed one of them in a car. Neither of the alleged incidents involved physical contact.
Mannon was arrested on a charge of annoying or molesting a child under 18. Bail was set at $35,000.
On March 10, deputies arrested Mannon in the area of Moss Lane near El Pomar Road, after they say they found meth in his truck. He was released until his court appearance. After discovering he is a registered sex offender, deputies warned residents about his release by posting fliers in the area.
