Sexual assault investigation leads to arrest of Santa Barbara man

A sexual assault investigation in Santa Barbara County has led to the arrest of a 69-year-old man.

Santa Barbara Police say the investigation began December 11 when officers responded to a disturbance in the 200 block of Las Ondas.

They say two female victims are involved in the case.

On Monday, a Santa Barbara Police detective obtained a $2 million warrant against Richard Douglas Box, from Santa Barbara, for multiple misdemeanors and felonies including rape, assault with a deadly weapon, and peeping with a concealed camera.

Monday afternoon, police say Box turned himself in at the Santa Barbara Police Department.

He was booked into Santa Barbara County Jail.
