SF Giants World Series Trophy Tour to visit Central Coast in February

Cupid will deliver a special gift for San Francisco Giants fans on the Central Coast on and around Valentine's Day 2013. The World Series Championship Trophy Tour is set to make three stops on the Central Coast in mid-February.

The city of Lompoc is on the tour schedule for Wednesday, February 13. A specific time and location will be released in early January.

The trophy tour will then head to Farmers' Market in downtown San Luis Obispo on Thursday, February 14. Organizers with the San Luis Obispo Downtown Association say the plan is for the trophy to be on display on the 600 block of Higuera Street near F. Mc Clintocks Restaurant.

Paso Robles is then slated to host the almost 30 pound sterling pound trophy on Friday, February 15. An exact location and time will be announced at a later date.

Fans will be able to take a picture with the trophy similar to what happened in early 2011 after San Francisco defeated the Texas Rangers for its first crown since moving to California in 1958.

The Giants swept the Detroit Tigers in late October to capture their second world championship in the last three years.

The Trophy Tour starts January 8 in Sacramento.
