SAN FRANCISCO (AP) San Francisco Municipal Transportation Agency operators are asking state labor officials to block plans to restore some service cuts.

The union representing the operators says management engaged in unfair labor practices by failing to discuss the service restoration with the operators. It is seeking an injunction from the California Public Employment Relations Board that would stop the proposed changes.

Muni wants to restore about 61 percent of the service that was cut in May.

The agency is also making some union representatives on the city payroll resume driving duties.

Muni Executive Director Nathaniel Ford says the agency plans to begin the service restoration as scheduled on Saturday.
