Shandon principal/superintendent fired

Multiple sources tell KSBY Rod Wallace, principal at Shandon High School, was effectively fired Tuesday night in a closed session school board meeting.

The school district has not made an official statement but sources aware of what happened at the meeting say Wallace's contract was terminated. Students and parents have been calling KSBY saying they have heard about the firing and want more information.

Wallace had been with the district for four years and served not only as the High School Principal but as Superintendent for the small district. The Shandon School District includes Parkfield, Shandon Elementary and the middle and high school.

KSBY's Connie Tran is covering this story for us today. Look for her report tonight on KSBY News at 5:00 and 6:00 pm.
