Sheriff brings back Internal Affairs Department

The San Luis Obispo County Sheriff's Department is bringing back the Internal Affairs Department as a standalone unit to investigate violations within the department.
Under Sheriff Williams, there were specific internal affairs people, but under Sheriff Hedges, there were no set experts. The sheriff's department says one of the top experts in the country has moved to the Central Coast and will head up the Internal Affairs operation to ensure the integrity of the sheriff's department.
