Sheriff's Dept: Man who died after ocean rescue was from SoCal

The San Luis Obispo County Coroner identifies the man who died after he was rescued from the ocean off of Cayucos Thursday night.

The Sheriff's Department says 40-year-old Jonathan Dale Lacquement was found unconscious in the water off of the 3200 block of Studio Drive Thursday.

Lacquement's wife told investigators he had been boogiie boarding when she lost sight of him in the ocean. She became concerned and called 911. A surfer jumped in to help and spotted Lacquement's body, and Coast Guard crews brought him to shore. The Sheriff's Department says crews immediately performed CPR when Lacquement's body was brought to the sand, and they took him to Sierra Vista Regional Medical Center. He was soon pronounced dead.

The Sheriff's Department says an autopsy is scheduled for next Thursday. Investigators say Lacquement is from Hemet, Calif., which is southwest of Riverside in southern California.
