Sheriff's investigators working to identify homicide victim

The San Luis Obispo County Sheriff's Office handed out flyers in Guadalupe to see if anyone recognizes a homicide victim.

A man's body was found in an irrigation ditch in Nipomo September 17.

The victim is described only as Hispanic, in his mid 20's to mid 30's, approximately 5'5" tall, weighing 165 pounds with black hair and brown eyes. Authorities say he doesn't have any scars, tattoos, or other identifying marks.

Detective Patrick Zuchelli with the SLO Co. Sheriff's Office told KSBY, "We're trying to hit a lot of the local businesses to put the flyers up ... hopefully someone will walk by and say 'Hey I know that person,' and give us a call."

The Sheriff's Office has not said how the man died or was killed. Anyone with information is urged to contact authorities.
