Sheriff's office releases identity of 2 men killed on Highway 46 Wednesday

The San Luis Obispo County Sheriff's Office has identified the two men killed in a crash on Highway 46 Wednesday as Jeremy Nathanial Martin, 26, from Grover Beach, and Christopher Micheal Medina, 24, from Paso Robles.

The crash happened just before 4 p.m. at Highway 46 East and Union Road in Paso Robles.

Police say the initial investigation shows Martin turned directly into the path of a pickup truck.

The driver of the truck was not injured.

Paso Robles police say weather does not appear to have played a role in the crash.

They say a substance believed to be marijuana was found in the car after the crash, but it is not known if Martin was under the influence at the time of the collision.

Autopsies were performed Thursday and toxicology reports are expected back in six to eight weeks.
