A San Luis Obispo County Sheriff's Deputy is in good condition at the hospital after being hit by a truck.

A department spokesman says it happened around 7:30 p.m. Friday at Lake Nacimiento.
Deputies were called out to a reported argument at a campground.

When they arrived, one of the people allegedly involved in that argument, a parolee, took off in his truck.

Investigators say he drove toward the deputy and hit him. As he was being hit, the deputy fired into the truck. The driver wasn't hit by a bullet, but was taken into custody.

Originally, investigators thought the deputy suffered a gunshot wound, but they now say he just has a severely injured leg from the accident.
