WASHINGTON (AP) - D.C. police say at least one shot was fired during a car chase near the White House that followed a robbery.

The robbery occurred just after 6 a.m. on Friday when several suspects robbed a group of five men and then drove off.

Commander George Kucik says two of the victims got in their car and gave chase. One of the suspects fired at least one shot, but the bullet struck a car and no one was injured.

He says the victims then drove to the area of the White House and asked the Secret Service for help.

He says the robbery and shooting had nothing to do with the White House, and that police are still interviewing witnesses.

No one was in custody as of noon Friday.
