A man was arrested in Templeton Sunday afternoon after officers received reports of shots fired in the area.

The San Luis Obispo County Sheriff's Office says deputies responded to El Pomar Drive around 12:30 p.m.

They say they set up a perimeter around the area and contacted the suspect, 44-year-old William Powell, by phone, convincing him to surrender.

They say he was arrested on a weapons violation.

Officials say they are investigating a possible assault with a deadly weapon violation as well.
