Six members of the Arroyo Grande High School boys junior varsity baseball team have been cut from the team, according to the school's principal, Ryan Pinkerton.
Pinkerton said the boys broke the school's athletic code and were notified on Monday. He was not able to elaborate as to how the students broke the code. Pinkerton would not confirm whether the boys are the subject of a burglary investigation being conducted by the Arroyo Grande Police Department.
Police tell KSBY News they are investigating seven Arroyo Grande High School students in connection with a string of residential burglaries over the past few months. They would not say if the students are members of the junior varsity baseball team.
They say they are working with the high school on the case and trying to contact victims. Police say some people may not be aware they are victims. So far, a total of five victims has been confirmed. Investigators say the burglaries took place throughout the city.
Police say the investigation began last Sunday, and the suspects were interviewed on Monday. So far, no arrests have been made.
