Six Cuesta theatre students are being celebrated, after they brought home awards from the Kennedy Center American College Theatre Festival.
Sarah Harwood, a San Luis Obispo resident who graduated from Morro Bay High School, won a one week internship with the Stagecraft Institute of Las Vegas. The internship is a reward for her contributions to Cuesta's production of "The Snow Queen." She was recognized for her makeup design work.
Five other Cuesta students attended the competition in February.
30-year-old Kyle Doust of Los Osos also received an award. He was a finalist in the Theatrical Design Excellence in Scenery category.
Three other students who performed in last spring's production of "The Three Musketeers" competed for scholarships. Greg Thelkeld and Chris Kamas won scholarships to California State University Summer Institute in Stage Combat. Nik Johnson was offered a job with the Missoula Children's theatre in Montana.
Nipomo High School grad, Kate Sachen, also received a job offer at the Neil Simon Festival in Cedar City, Utah.
