SLO Brewing Company plans to take its restaurant and brewing operation from Garden Street to Higuera Street at the end of next year.
WestPac, which owns the current property occupied by SLO Brewing Company at 1119 Garden Street, as well as its future home at 736 Higuera Street, has plans to use the Garden Street location for a boutique hotel. The property is part of a mixed use project called Garden Street Terraces that's been in the works for years, and is slated to begin construction in the next two years.
SLO Brewing Company will be moving to the former location of Central Coast Surfboards. The new property will provide an additional 4,000 square feet with outside patio dining and the music venue on the ground floor, and a small roof deck on the second floor.
New plans will be heard by the planning commission in July. If approved, retrofit and tenant improvements would need to be completed on the vacant building before SLO Brewing Company could move, which is expected to happen in December 2013.
