SLO Children's Museum prepares for "Noon Year's Eve"

The San Luis Obispo Children's Museum is getting ready for 2014, which is right around the corner.

Kids were there today making winter crafts, like glitter pine cones and "beachy" snowmen.

Meanwhile, the staff is getting ready for the museum's 6th annual Noon Year's Eve event on Tuesday.

The event runs from 11:00 a.m. to 1:00 p.m. and features a balloon drop at noon, sharp.

"It was very busy," Children's Museum Assistant Manager Josie Low said. "We did get sold out last year. So make sure you get there early so you can come for all the festivities."

Kids can toast the new year with apple juice and snack on cookies.

They can also ring in 2014 with some crafts, and make paper hats and shakers.

General admission is $8.00, military members get in for $7.00 and seniors admission is $5.00. Children under two years old get in for free.

The museum can have up to 300 people at the celebration.
