After two and a half hours of discussion the San Luis Obispo City Council has approved plans for a new housing and business complex in San Luis Obispo.
It will be built on the corner of Taft and Kentucky St., where it will replace an empty gas station.
The city council unanimously denied an appeal of the project Tuesday night.
Council members say the plans for the seven residential units and a little more than 3,000 square feet of commercial space fit within city regulations and long term plans.
Eran Fields of "Icon", a Los Angeles based company will develop the project.
Fields next step will be to obtain building permits, which could take months.
