The San Luis Obispo County Sheriff's Office is taking steps to make the area the "Most Prepared County in the Country" if a disaster strikes.
Wednesday morning they will join PG&E to announce a major donation.
It will establish a new Sheriff's task force on public safety.
They will also be giving out special awards to officers.
The meeting is at 9:00 a.m at the Sheriff's Honor Farm on Oklahoma Avenue off Hwy. 1.
