SLO County Food Bank kicks off Lovin' Lunchbox program

Some of the money the community helped raise on Hunger Awareness Day a couple of weeks ago is helping feed children in need this summer.

The Food Bank Coalition of San Luis Obispo County kicked off its Lovin' Lunchbox program this week.

The program provides nutritious meals to kids and teens while they are out of school on summer break.

"We have sites all the way from San Miguel in the north to Nipomo in the south, over 20 sites this year serving lunch every day Monday through Friday," says Andrea Keisler with the Food Bank.

Kids who attend the lunch program can also receive free clothing and participate in fun activities.
