The San Luis Obispo Council of Governments will get a chunk of an $18-million Caltrans grant.
More than 100 public transit projects across California are receiving funding.
The projects are designed to help low-income people and those with disabilities access employment and employment-related activities, such as job training and job interviews, more easily. This includes transporting people to employment opportunities in suburban areas and city centers.
Nearly $150,000 will go towards the 511 Transportation Information Project in SLO County which provides transportation information in English and Spanish.
