Despite losing several big hitters from last year's team that went 27-7, the Tigers continue to show they're the team to beat in the Pac 7 League. The San Luis Obispo girls swept visiting Pioneer Valley 25-16, 25-15 and 25-11 on Thursday night in their league opener.
The Tigers improved to 13-1 overall and 1-0 in league as they started their quest for a third-straight league title.
Reigning league MVP Maggie Eppright compiled 30 assists for the Tigers. Left-hander Ariel Becker led the Tigers with 9 kills in the win.
San Luis Obispo, which is ranked #4 in the latest CIF Division 2AA Coaches Poll, returns to action next Tuesday at Atascadero.
