San Luis Obispo High graduate Connor O'Hare delivered two-out RBI doubles in his first two at-bats as the North County Indians beat Fairfield 6-0 on Saturday to complete a three game sweep.
The Indians improved to 30-10 and play a doubleheader against the Salinas Tomahawks on Sunday. They close out the season with Tuesday and Wednesday home games against the San Francisco Seals.
The Indians got on the board in the bottom of the second when Mac Stuart, a Paso Robles High grad and Cuesta star, led off with a basehit to leftfield. He stole second base and went to third on a infield hit from Brett Clark. Incoming Cal Poly freshman Alec Smith hit a fly ball to shallow left field that was caught. Stuart retreated to third base, but the throw back into the infield ended up near the backstop and Stuart alertly took off and scored the first run of the game. Later with Clark at third and two outs, O'Hare ripped a double down the left field line to make it 2-0.
The Indians doubled their lead in the fourth inning when Stuart reached on an error and Clark ripped a base-hit to right field that sent Stuart over to third. The Cuesta sophomore later scored on a wild pitch to make it 3-0. O'Hare later sent a shot down the right field line for his RBI double to drive in Clark and make it 4-0.Nick Rosen pitched the first six innings for North County and struck out four. He allowed just 2 hits. Tyler Kollmann threw a scoreless seventh and former SLO High and Cuesta star Max Duval fanned 5 in two innings to seal the win.
O'Hare finished 3 for 5 with two doubles and two RBI. Smith tallied 3 hits, while Stuart went 2 for 4.
