Cal Poly celebrated the grand opening of it's new SLO Hot House Wednesday night.

The university's Center for Innovation and Entrepreneurship teamed up with local business leaders and the city of San Luis Obispo. It's area's first small-business incubator.

At the Hot House, the best start-up ideas will become realities on the Central Coast.

Cal Poly President Armstrong hopes it will bring the university and the community even closer.

Another goal is to boost the local economy.

Thea Chase, Director of the Center for Innovation & Entrepreneurship said, "Companies that start in incubators actually have a higher chance of success and they also accelerate the rate of success."

The business incubator provides resources for local entrepreneurs to build successful businesses.

SLO Hot House is on Morro Street in downtown San Luis Obispo.
