The San Luis Obispo area raked in the benefits from this year's San Luis Obispo Marathon + Half.
Race organizers say the marathon had a more than $3 million economic impact on the community. That includes money spent on lodging, food, souvenirs, and more.
Organizers say this year's event, which also included a 5K and Children's Fun Run, drew 30% more participants than last year.
It also raised $500,000 for the Leukemia and Lymphoma Society.
The 2014 San Luis Obispo Marathon + Half will take place the weekend of April 25-27.
