Home court advantage played out in the first round of the CIF playoffs for Central Coast girls tennis teams on Wednesday.
San Luis Obispo lost 11-7 at Buckley in a Division 3 first round match. Buckley is the two-time reigning Division 4 champions.
After winning in the wild card round on Tuesday, Righetti lost 14-4 at Malibu, the top ranked team in Division 3. Chanel Yamaguchi and Annette Sousa teamed up at #1 doubles to win all three of their sets 6-4, 6-3 and 6-2. Karianne LaPlante also won a set at #3 singles 6-1 for the Warriors.
The Los Padres League champion Santa Ynez girls routed visiting La Salle 14-4 on Wednesday. The Pirates advanced to the second round of the Division 4 CIF playoffs.
Orcutt Academy, the #2 seed in Division 4, won all nine doubles sets to beat Cabrillo 13-5.
Lompoc saw its season come to an end with a 14-4 loss at Cate in a Division 4 match.
Arroyo Grande won all nine singles sets and took eight of the nine doubles sets to rout visiting La Reina 17-1. The Eagles are the #2 seed in Division 3 and play at Oakwood in North Hollywood on Friday.
