The San Luis Obispo Chamber of Commerce has to love having news like this to put in its newsletter: San Luis Obispo has made the finals for the 'Friendliest' town in America contest sponsored by USA Today and Rand McNally.
The Chamber made the announcement Wednesday. According to the "e-Insider", SLO is one of six cities vying for the title as part of the 2012 'Best of the Road' competition. The contest has selected 30 towns from across the United States in five categories- Friendliest, Most Fun, Most Beautiful, Most Patriotic and Best for Food.
The Chamber says SLO will now play host to the competition's Road Rally and show off the city's 'friendliness' when the group visits. The date of the visit is yet to be selected, but will be between June 15 and July 15.
