SAN LUIS OBISPO, Calif. - The SLO Men's U23 Rugby team arrived back in the States late last week after their two week tour of Ireland, Italy and France.
""We had a incredible tour," said Head Coach Dave Burnett, "great rugby, great sites; two weeks never to be forgotten."
The tour group had a jam packed schedule of matches, practice sessions and sightseeing as they travelled through 10 different european cities including Dublin, Venice and Paris.
The team played out two hard fought losses against Irish & Italian club sides and secured a come from behind win in the south of France.
The young men from the central coast embraced every aspect of the european culture on show, seeing Michelangelo's famous Statue of David, Leonardo da Vinci's Mona Lisa and visiting thousand year old ancient roman ruins.
These Rugby players will now return to their respective college Rugby sides at Cal Poly, Cuesta and San Francisco State for the upcoming Rugby season, which kickoffs in San Luis Obispo on October 12th with the West Coast Rugby 7s Tournament. "We had a incredible tour, great rugby, great sites. Two weeks never to be forgotten."
