A new campaign in San Luis Obispo County that raises awareness about mental health illness launches tonight, Thursday, February 4.
It is called SLOtheSTIGMA aimed at doing just that: reducing the stigma of mental illness and guiding people to resources in the county.
It is being headed by Transitions-Mental Health Association.
Tonight is a screening of a locally-produced documentary that accompanies the campaign.
It starts at 5:30 at the Supervisors Chambers at the County Government Center in San Luis Obispo.
There is valuable information for people battling mental illness, as well as a list of resources at http://slothestigma.org/.
