WILDOMAR, Calif. (AP) - Officials say a small brush fire in Riverside County was quickly contained and confined to a single property, but not before it killed two dogs and destroyed a house, a half-dozen sheds, several trailers, more than a dozen vehicles and a pair of boats.
A county fire statement says the blaze in Wildomar between Interstate 15 and Lake Elsinore was reported shortly before 3 p.m. Tuesday and about 40 firefighters knocked it down in about 30 minutes.
But the fire left severe damage within the two acres it burned.
A home that was being remodeled was destroyed, and two family dogs were killed. Two workshop buildings were also destroyed along with a 20-foot travel trailer, seven other utility trailers, two boats and four utility sheds.
No humans were injured.
