LOS ANGELES (AP) - The U.S. Geological Survey has registered a minor earthquake struck near the town of Alturas in Modoc County.
The USGS reported that 3.5-magnitude earthquake hit at 1:47 a.m. Friday and was near the surface. There were no reported injuries or damages.
The epicenter was 97 miles from Susanville.
According to the USGS, the area has had five earthquakes of magnitude 3.0 or greater over the past 10 days.
